Plans for the Interception Modernisation Programme (IMP) are still alive and kicking. If you haven’t heard of the IMP, don’t worry, it’s just the scariest possible name for a government communications bill. It was introduced in 2008 to plant spy devices in every communications network in the country, recording every phone number and e-mail address you use.
